Finch designed and built 68 stainless steel modular Animal or Swine Pens for a large government agency. These Modular animal pens are designed for assembly and disassembly with no tools and to interlock with each other to form various shapes and sizes.
Project Overview
Project Specifications
- Worked with government team to design these interchangeable heavy duty animal pens
- Main structural components are 4” SQ tubing with adjustable polypropylene feet and walls made of round tubing which can be made to any specific length or height
- Simple hook latches the main beams together, full-length pins connect the pen walls to the corner uprights, and clevis pins secure the upper bracing. There is sufficient clearance to ensure a tight fit while maintaining ease of assembly
- Floor of each module is made of a soft coated expanded metal suitable for a full range of pigs or other animal hooves and made of 2 or 3 rectangular pieces with 1” x ½” hole sizes for the ease of cleaning. One example of this kind of flooring is Tenderfoot
- Panels are structurally reinforced to withstand the specific animal weight. One model was designed for pigs weighing over 300lbs with 4 and 6-foot walls
- Included other features such as little animal guarding to prevent the escape
- Project was completed on-time and under budget during COVID-19
